Does it work for multiple cats at once?

Yes. The track loops the full perimeter of your floor, so multiple cats can chase the same lure from different angles simultaneously. This makes it especially popular in multi-cat homes, including with cats that don't normally play together.

Is it safe to leave my cat alone with it running?

How do I set it up for the first time?

Clip the corner pulleys around your room using the velcro straps on table legs or furniture feet, thread the cord through each pulley into a closed loop, attach the furry lure, then set your speed and press the power button.
